Congratulations to Tom, one of our physiotherapists, who has started his journey and passion in lecturing.

Tom has recently been teaching about outcome measures that are used in rehabilitation for junior doctors studying BSci Sports Medicine at University College London (UCL).

As honorary lecturer, Tom led a virtual zoom lecture and created videos for asynchronous seminar content for the students. His filmed content included information on handheld dynamometry, range of motion testing, capacity testing, and isokinetic testing.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) members have a responsibility to engage in practice-based learning. Tom is benefiting himself and the clinic in developing his tools, resources, and knowledge in educating future clinician’s. We are hoping that this will be a reoccurring activity for Tom, we are really keen to help our physios achieve a varied, high level professional portfolio.

When we were chatting to Tom about his experience he said; “I am really enjoying the opportunity to lecture, it has given me the chance to try something different in my work, and to share my passion of sports medicine with others.”

Well done Tom, keep up the good work!
