One of our clients Derek is bravely competing in the World’s toughest rowing challenges in December this year – The Talisker Whiskey Atlantic challenge in “The Atlantic Guardsman”, a Rannoch 45 rowing boat. He has previously completed the Marathon des Sables – three times and hopes to complete this challenge, alongside three others on behalf of the Scots Guards Charity in 40 days!

Derek has been attending Elite as part of his rehabilitation are has written a review:

“Elite Physical Medicine are just fantastic and I am so grateful to the whole team for their interest, commitment and expertise. As they have so willingly done in the past, they are supporting me in my latest physical endeavour – rowing the Atlantic! My shoulders are not in great shape having been dislocated on many occasions on many Rugby pitches and yet with their input I know I will be in the best possible shape to attempt this gruelling race. Elite Physical have completed a full analysis of my strengths and weaknesses and are overseeing a programme of exercises tailored to my rowing challenge”

The race starts from La Gomera in the Canaries and finishes in Antigua. It is expected that the team will take around forty days. They will row in pairs throughout – rowing for two hours, resting for two hours; day and night.
