MSc Physiotherapy, Masters in Professional Kinesiology
Chartered Physiotherapist

Originally from Canada, Amanda moved to the UK in 2020 to undertake her MSc Physiotherapy degree at Oxford Brookes University, where she graduated with distinction.

She had previously graduated from the University of Toronto in 2017 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology (receiving honours) and in 2019 with a Masters in Professional Kinesiology.

Amanda spent two years working in the Canadian public and private sectors as a Registered Kinesiologist to provide specialist active rehabilitation programmes. She gained extensive experience working in the areas of paediatric concussion – including prevention, education, and management – as well as return- to-work planning and work simulation-based rehabilitation.

For years Amanda has dedicated herself to playing rugby, training full-time at the University of Toronto and with her local clubs in Canada. Rugby and physiotherapy became fundamental pillars in her life. In fact, they became a positive feedback loop evidenced by the numerous awards and scholarships received over her academic career: three awards/scholarships from the University of Toronto for athletic and academic excellence, one scholarship from the Canadian Rugby Foundation for her dedication to playing and spreading the game of rugby, and most recently becoming an Academic All-Canadian.

Amanda continues to play for the Oxford Quins RFC as part of the women’s senior squad. Her passion for rugby has motivated her to further build her sport rehabilitation and pitch-side trauma experience as the Head of Medical for Aylesbury RFC. She has qualifications in pitch-side first aid, sport massage, taping, and McKenzie Part A Lumbar spine.

Physical activity has always been a central part of her life – she is also an avid runner and cyclist who is passionate about health and wellbeing. Amanda is always motivated to continue to learn and gain experience in order to help make meaningful changes to her patients’ lives and abilities through her skillset.

I came to see her at the end of Feb regarding a sore foot which I was worried about running on and was trying to train for the London Marathon.

Please can you pass on a huge thanks as I took her advice on changing my running / foot placement and it massively helped and I ran my first marathon at the end of April.

Just wanted to say a big thanks!

Elite Physical Medicine gave an informative talk to Ashfold School which was very well received. They are very knowledgeable and approachable. Lots of useful information about common injuries and concussion. Many thanks!

Andy has absolutely sorted my back. Prior to seeing him, I had spent hundreds of pound on Chiropractors and dozens of visits to my GP. Within 3-4 visits to Andy, my back is completely fixed. He identified the issue on my first visit, something no GP or Chiro had before. Really cannot recommend highly enough.

I have been to Elite on many occasions after sk ing and football injuries. The service and expertise has been 1st class every time and i would 100% recommend them You get a personal experience and a rehab programme that is not just a page of notes taken from a book (as I have experienced elsewhere) but a programme really tailored to your needs.
Great team of people too!
